made up of representatives from LCD member organizations, is responsible for
establishing criteria, reviewing nominations and selecting the Award recipient.

Asian Pacific American judge in Connecticut. She currently presides over
juvenile matters in the judicial district of New Haven. Prior to her
appointment, Judge Elgo was an Assistant Attorney General for fourteen years.
Judge Elgo serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Asian Pacific
American Bar Association. She is a member of the Judicial Council of the
National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. She was honored in 2006 by the

Connecticut Judiciary”. Judge Elgo was also a recipient of the 2007 Connecticut
Bar Association – Young Lawyers Section Diversity Award. She is a member of the
Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court and a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut
Bar Foundation.
The Award is given annually to an individual or organization who has

and advance lawyers of color in Connecticut and surrounding legal communities.
Past Committee Chairs include The Honorable Fleming L. Norcott, Connecticut
Supreme Court; The Honorable Antonio C. Robaina, Connecticut Superior Court; The

The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity was formed by concerned lawyers to answer the call for diversity. Our current challenge is to increase the recruitment, retention and promotion of lawyers of color, not only as good social policy, but also as good business practice.
THE MISSION:
The mission of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity is to unite the resources, energy and commitment of the State’s leading law firms, corporations, public sector entities, law schools and state bar associations in the joint mission of making Connecticut a more attractive place for attorneys of color and women to practice law and find satisfying professional opportunities.
